The Youth in the Community, the Hope in Building the Future
By Abu Anas Al-Suri
“Youth are the buds of spring that grow into the tree of society, and through their hands, the birth of a bright life takes place. They are the future and the future of any nation.
Transmitting human values to future generations is the responsibility of the youth. The youth are the pillars of the Islamic nation, the source of its strength and civilizations. Islam has bestowed great value upon the youth, as they constitute the foundation and essential support of the community.
Therefore, it is the responsibility of all members of society to support the youth to become strong in all aspects, to be youth of noble morals, brave hearts, and conscious minds. We must ensure the development of the youth to harness their energy and contribution in the future building of the community.
A nation begins to lose its identity when its youth deviate from noble ethics and authentic behaviors. These factors are crucial for the progress of nations. The leaders of society must invest their resources to help the youth overcome global challenges. They should also protect the youth from the impacts of conflicts and disputes they face in a crucial stage of their lives.
This includes protecting them from displacement and supporting the education sector because education and upbringing are crucial elements in the growth of youth and, consequently, the growth of societies as a whole. If educational institutions do not adopt curricula that emphasize values and ethics in youth and enlighten their minds, there will be no healthy generations to uplift the society.
It is our duty to invest in the minds of the youth in everything that is beneficial, guide them, and open doors of hope for future construction. The youth need their hearts to be addressed before their minds to achieve the future aspirations that depend on them fundamentally.
Governments, social organizations, and families should enhance their efforts in educating the youth, listening to their problems, and working to solve those problems in various ways. They should provide sufficient educational and employment opportunities for the youth and empower them to become leaders in their communities.”
