The Impact of Economic Pressure on Social Problems
The Impact of Economic Pressure on Social Problems

There is a close connection between social problems and the economic situation, as social corruption, such as bribery, theft, unemployment, homelessness, and migration, is considered a result of economic pressure. This pressure negatively affects individuals and societies as a whole, leading to destructive reactions. Therefore, to begin solving social problems, the focus should be on the economic situation.
The decline in the economy indicates the inability to meet individuals’ needs and is linked to a general shortage of economic resources. The impact of economic problems in developing countries increases due to population growth and resource scarcity. When individuals have low and insufficient income compared to the prices of goods, prices rise, and economic problems escalate. Poverty, deprivation, unemployment, and drug trafficking become simultaneous social and economic problems, falling within the concept of economic and social violence, depriving individuals of full participation in society and essential life services.
Methods of economic violence may include hoarding resources and their misuse to exercise power and control over others. Economic violence causes significant harm to society, leading to social inequality and inflicting psychological and social damages on individuals. The escalation of economic problems increases deviance, crime rates, and the spread of diseases, impacting the psychological and social lives of individuals and affecting their ability to socialize.
To overcome economic problems, we must acknowledge the problem and commit to addressing its root causes. Control must be imposed on economic activity, and a strategic plan to support economic growth and create job opportunities must be developed. Increased income achieves improvement in individual livelihoods, leading to stability in communities. These solutions reduce unemployment, theft, and crime. In many cases, economic and social violence is the cause of violence. Addressing the root causes helps create a safer society.
Society faces many problems and obstacles that hinder the progress and cohesion of communities, generating violence. It is essential to eliminate all causes of violence to enable individuals to empathize and interact with each other with compassion and mercy, seeking to win hearts, affection, and love instead of destroying each other’s lives and seeking revenge.
