Peaceful resistance prevented the Brazilian police from suppressing the farmers

In a society marked by violence and injustice in Brazil, one of the landowners used a private police force to suppress the farmers who were struggling to remain on their land.

The police officers were as poor as the farmers themselves, and one day, the farmers made a verbal argument that left a more impactful and lasting impression on the police. Following this, they refused to suppress the farmers and refrain from using firearms.
